These guys are the best butchers around and trust me, I’ve hunted and done my research! From Springvale to Ringwood, I’ve tried different butchers and now will only support McKays. The quality is top shelf and they have a large range of cuts and products. If there isn’t something in particular I’m after (a rarity), a substitute is always recommended. The friendly customer service is A+. The quality and range is A+. The knowledge and info shared is always sound and accurate, brilliant cooking tips, A+. The prices are *so* reasonable considering the quality, I’ve paid more for lesser quality elsewhere, A+. The fact they still take last minute phone orders, when some don’t, win! A+. I now go armed with a list and Tupperware containers and stock up my freezer because we don’t like the meat anywhere else. I’m not affiliated to the business in any way and have nothing to gain by this review. It just took me a long time to find a good butcher and now I like to tell everyone about them :) ~ Tiffany P

This is hands down the BEST butcher in the area! Nothing is too hard for these guys. Always have the best cuts and are happy to trim up or cut fresh for you while you wait if what you’re after isn’t displayed. The quality is fantastic and the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and right there with advice or a chat while you’re being served. You don’t see this kind of service much anymore. McKays Family Butchers is easily the best butcher in the area. The meat is always fresh and high quality, and the staff really know their stuff. I recently picked up some lamb chops and chicken breasts, and both were excellent. It's great having such a reliable Rowville butcher nearby. The most friendly butcher retailer in the area! They sponsored our school’s sausage sizzling held at Bunnings today with their home made tasty sausages. FINALLY!!!! A local butcher you can count on for the best meat in the area!...the previous butchers that occupied this space were inconsistent and way more miss than hit...and the same can be said about the butchers at Wellington Village. I an not one for writing reviews but I felt compelled in this instance. I'm fussy about produce, and I am more than angry when I shell out over $40 a kilo for a cut of meat that should never be any less than melt in your mouth, and I find it's below par....but.... not any more!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for bringing quality meat back to the Rowville/Lysterfield area. We are foodies, I love to cook and host many a dinner party and your meat is top notch, fresh, lean, tender and tasty. Since the butchers in Woolworths were removed in store (which were surprisingly good) I've been waiting for another option to arrive. You out butcher everyone in the area including surrounding suburbs including Knox. Well done McKay's family!! We’ve been coming here ever since we moved to the Rowville area three years ago. Staff are always helpful and super friendly. The quality is second to none.
